our Origin
Signal Africa was founded by Aurel Kinimbaga, a finance executive deeply familiar with the realities of leading and building across African markets. After years spent navigating strategic, financial, and operational challenges in complex environments, Aurel saw a gap: there were too few spaces where African decision-makers could access grounded insights not just data, but real-world reflections from people facing similar pressures.
About Signal Africa
Signal Africa is a bilingual newsletter thoughtfully crafted for those who lead, build, and decide across the African continent.
It is written for people who operate in uncertainty, navigate fragmented markets, and make decisions that shape companies sometimes countries.
Each week, we deliver what we call a signal: a short, sharp insight rooted in real-world business practice not theory. It could be a lesson from a CEO’s turnaround in a frontier market, a financial insight from a CFO managing multi-country liquidity, or a leadership tension faced by a founder scaling faster than expected. The signal is always grounded, applicable, and reflective of the African business experience.
And once a month, we go deeper. Our long-form edition explores one key topic through a 360° lens: strategic analysis, first-hand stories, sector intelligence, interviews, and lessons drawn from the ground up. These editions are designed to help decision-makers zoom out, reframe a problem, or see patterns others miss.
Signal Africa is designed to speak decision makers language with clarity, precision, and respect for your context.
This isn’t a newsletter about “Africa” from a distance. It’s a tool for those building within it.
Don’t miss the next signal.
Subscribe to receive sharp, field-driven insights for those who lead, build, and decide in Africa every week.
